Ben Dews
Starting out at school taking free drum lessons sparked Ben’s interest for music, after being involved in a music technology project for his GCSE’s Ben found his main interest within Synthesised sounds and sound manipulation, following his GCSE’s in music Ben went on to do a first diploma and BTEC in Music Technology, this not only maintained his drumming but furthered his ability as a Sequencer.
Taking it to the next level Ben furthered his studies at Salford University where he worked closely at music for the motion picture and Foley artists, again using sequencing software to manipulate sounds. At weekends Ben did live sound for local bands around Wakefield.

Chris Longfellow
Chris has played in several bands over the last 4 years including Hot Contents and Afraid Like You.
Chris studied Music Technology at Wakefield College and came out with triple distinction grades, following this Chris then went on to study at Huddersfield University where he gained a whole new perspective on music mainly influenced by more electronic music, which culminated in the formation of Afraid Like You in 2009.
Originally a live sound engineer, Chris got his foot in the door of the industry by sound engineering for a regular night at Wakefield’s Zone venue, which he eventually became promoter for. After his work with Zone, Chris worked at The Jockey and closely with WTP Music on several events including judging, with Ben, at this and last years’ Battle of The Bands.
Before founding what is now DPS in 2008, Chris was working as a freelance studio engineer in other studios and on location recording projects.

Darren Brookes
Darren Brookes is a Studio and Live Sound Engineer with a BA (Hons) Degree in Music Production, based between Sheffield and Leeds. Darren has worked at several Live Music Venues throughout the region most notably The Escobar and The Hop in Wakefield and the O2 Academy in Sheffield. He has also Studio Engineered at Steelworks in Sheffield although he is currently based primarily at DPS in Leeds.
